Hi, Iām Arthur
I'm not a trained watchmaker. I'm not pretending to be one.
I'm someone who fell completely down the rabbit hole of mechanical watches, specifically the kind built behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. Robust, honest machines with real history and zero pretension.
What started as a flea market find became a bench, a set of tools, a growing obsession with movement architecture, and eventually Wound to Wear.
I'm drawn to these watches because they were designed to work, not to impress. They survived decades in drawers, pockets and wrists across the world, and most of them still run!
That alone feels worth preserving.
I work slowly, document everything, and only take on what I genuinely understand. This is a craft I'm building seriously.
One movement at a time.
